(Reporting by Epoch Times Lin Dan, New York) A main water pipe in Brooklyn Sunset Park ruptured on the 24th (Sunday), and the water column sprayed up to 5 feet high. The staff rushed to the scene for repair. According to ABC7, the water pipe rupture occurred around 4.20am on Sunday, near the intersection of Fifth Avenue and 44th Street in Sunset Park. A mains pipe rupture caused thousands of gallons of water to gush from the ground, pouring down the street, flooding Fourth Avenue and Fifth Avenue, with water columns up to 5 feet high. The flooding of Jinshan caused five blocks to be blocked and traffic was blocked. The New York City Department of Environmental Protection, the New York City Police Department (NYPD), and the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) all rushed to the scene to take response measures. EPA staff worked hard to find the source of the water pipe rupture and closed multiple sluices, causing water to be interrupted by nearby residents' homes. No casualties were reported in the accident.
