(Malacca, 27th) The water pipe replacement project of Ayer Keroh Plateau and Muchahua Sand Garden started in September, and about 80% have been completed. It is expected to be completed on December 31 in advance, benefiting 5,000 residents. Democratic Action Party Ailek District State Assemblyman Guo Ziyi pointed out that about a quarter of the water pipes in State A are old-style water pipes, and the relevant water pipes have been used for more than 30 to 40 years. The existing water pipes of the Ayer Keroh Plateau are also old water pipes. Some households face problems with water pressure. He said that due to the outdated water pipes, Malacca Water Company reduced the water pressure to ensure that the old water pipes would not break because they could not withstand the high water pressure, which also caused the higher areas to face the problem of low water pressure. He said that in order to solve the related problems, the state government allocated RM5 million in 2018 to upgrade the water pipes of the Ayer Keroh Plateau and Muchahuasha Garden, involving 1,500 units and benefiting about 5,000 people. Guo Ziyi pointed out at a press conference after inspecting the project yesterday afternoon. The press conference was attended by press secretary Chen Diyuan and constituency assistant Alice. He said that the project started in September this year, and about 80% of it has been completed. It was originally scheduled to be completed in February next year. It is expected to be completed ahead of December 31 this year. He said that once the project is completed, the new water pipe will replace the old water pipe to fully operate, which will not only increase the water pressure, but also the water quality will be cleaner. In response to a resident claiming that the project was not well done, Guo Ziyi claimed that he had received no less than 50 complaints, including gravel and unpaved asphalt, and the State Constituency Coordination and Development Committee would immediately receive a complaint immediately after receiving a complaint. He said that after the completion of part of the lifting work, rehabilitation and cleanup work will be carried out, including asphalting, and he hopes the public will give some patience.
